Started martial arts on August 20, 1973 at the age of 13
Studied the style of Okinawa Shorin Ryu under Mr. Ed Daniel at the Dallas School of Karate
Competed in and won numerous karate tournaments as a junior and as an adult
As a junior competitor, he won the U.S. Karate Championship
Santae received his black belt in May 1978
In November 1987, he won the I.S.K.A. featherweight world title in Lausanne, Switzerland
Promoted to 7th Degree Black Belt in May 2005
In 2000, he was inducted into 2 halls of fame (Texas Martial Arts Sports Hall of Fame and Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame)
From 2005-2006, he was an assistant coach for the Texas Team in the World Combat League
In June 2011, Santae was promoted to 8th Degree Black Belt Grand Master by Mr. Ed Daniel & the AKBBA board members
Taught at the Texas Self-Defense Academy and currently instructs at Mezger Martial Arts
